Hi, I am looking for some advice on getting a Power of Attorney done here for my Father in India to buy a property on my behalf. I recently checked Indian Consulate website and it says they dont accept the mail in anymore so I need to go there in person. If anbosy has done it recently, My question here is- Do I really need to go in person or they do accept mail in? Can I go to Chicago Consulate or it has to be Washington DC as KY falls under DC consulate? if anybody***

You can get it done at Indian Embassy, Washington DC by mail. You need not go in person. You cannot get service from Chicago Indian consulate as you live in KY, which comes under the jurisdiction of WDC embassy. Check this link http://www.indianembassy.org/index.php?option=com_content&id=224
