Is Louisville downtown safe for living? Louisville, KY Desi Indian

Hi, 

I will be joining Humana on June 3rd. I was planning on moving to an apartment located somewhere in downtown to cut down travel time.

My question is whether downtown is safe, any views on apartments in downtown, parking scenario in downtown in case I choose to stay far.
